Madame Web Thoughts
Well, um... I don't know how to feel about this movie. This didn't stray too far from my expectations going in to the film, which were based off the first trailer. I find it super depressing that they used the shots of the girls in their spider-suits throughout a good portion of the trailer, and those sequences were barely included in the film. They used those sequences to make their trailer look better, but somehow the trailer was still absolutely awful. It's wild. I never thought Sony could stoop lower than Morbius. I rate this movie 3.7/10.
My quiz for Madame Web will be uploaded in the coming days.
Deadpool & Wolverine Teaser Thoughts
Yes! It finally arrived! The teaser trailer for Deadpool 3 dropped right before Super Bowl LVIII. This was surely one of the top highlights of the night (the Super Bowl is lower since the Chiefs won ;-;). This teaser does a really good job at teasing what is to come in this thrilling movie, and I just cannot wait for July 26. And with the dropping of the trailer came the official title announcement. The movie has been officially titled Deadpool & Wolverine. How exciting is that? This is definitely my most anticipated movie for this year.
Echo Thoughts
In the first week of February, I got around to the first three episodes of the mini-series. Since it's been a few weeks since then, my memory isn't as strong in regards to the specific details of each episode, and my singular takes for each episode. However I do know the show had me intrigued. I hadn't anticipated to draw me in as much as it did, since it seems to be one of Marvel's irrelevant shows that nobody asked for- although I really do think it's not so bad so far. I won't go so far to say it's amazing or great, but its definitely not as bad as I imagined it would be.
X-Men '97 Trailer Thoughts
This looks cool. I don't think I'm the target demographic for this show, and I haven't been totally into Marvel Animation's productions either, but I will be sure to check it out eventually. That's really all I got for this trailer.
The FINAL Cast for the MCU's Fantastic Four...
Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards / Mr. Fantastic
Vanessa Kirby as Susan Storm / Invisible Woman
Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm / Human Torch
Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm / The Thing
Wow... let's look at this. First off, Pedro Pascal had already been rumored for a few months prior to this official announcement, so this didn't come off as a complete surprise. Then we have the casting of Vanessa Kirby as The Invisible Woman. I'm not so familiar with her works, however she looks the role, so I'm down. Then there's Joseph Quinn as Human Torch. Joseph Quinn is most famous for his role in Stranger Things as Eddie. I have not seen Stranger Things (since I don't have Netflix), however he seems to be a fan-favorite. I'm assuming this means he is a good actor, which has me on board for this casting. And lastly, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing. Once again, I am not familiar with his works, but I am so for this casting. This new announcement also came with a new reshuffling of release dates for the MCU. Here's the current schedule for the MCU.
Phase 5:
Deadpool & Wolverine - July 26, 2024
Agatha: Darkhold Diaries - October 2024
Captain America: Brave New World - February 14, 2025
Thunderbolts - May 2, 2025
Phase 6:
The Fantastic Four - July 25, 2025
Blade - November 7, 2025
Avengers 5 - May 1, 2026
Avengers: Secret Wars - May 7, 2027
I'm so excited for the future of the MCU, especially seeing that they now will be adding the Fantastic Four to the mix of characters already included in the universe.
Superman: Legacy Title Change
Filming for Superman: Legacy commenced yesterday, February 29, and with this came a change to the title of the movie. James Gunn announced the new title of the movie, as well as the emblem that will be included on Superman’s suit (aka the Superman S). The new title of the movie is “Superman.” I feel like this is a little underwhelming since it’s so simplistic. I kind of like Superman: Legacy, but I’m okay with just Superman. Superman will be in theaters July 11, 2025.
Thank You!
Thank you for taking time out of your day to read this month’s CQMB. Be sure to stay tuned for the next CQMB which will release on the first of April.
Madame Web sucked so bad, I kinda expected it but cmon Sony, "Keep on Webbing!?!?!?"
I lost interest in Echo after two episodes. It wasn't bad at all, I just had other stuff to watch I was a bit more invested in.
Also how many times are they going to change the names of their Phase 5 Movies? I personally think "New World Order" sounds much more ominous and just sorta cooler than "Brave New World..."
I always look forward to these blogs! Keep them coming!
(:
(Poor Niners ): )
Yeah, Madame Web was seriously a joke- I’m just wondering how long this Spider-Man universe will last before Sony decides they’re losing too much money 😂
I think they changed it from New World Order to Brave New World cuz New World Order means something else irl that relates to politics. So I think they were just tryna keep it separate from that. The upcoming Agatha show is the worst though! It was originally Agatha: House of Harkness, then changed to Agatha: Coven of Chaos, then to Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, and I saw one source saying it could possibly change again to Agatha All Along. That last detail is not confirmed, but still that’s crazy.
Yeah I’ve had trouble getting to Echo too. Doesn’t have the same interest pull as Loki and WandaVision 😕
Thanks for checking out my blog again Nazgul! Always look forward to your comments!
Like the blogs :)
Not as sure about Brave New World- I’m a little worried about that one but it sounds like they’re doing extensive reshoots to meet the fans’ wants, so I’m crossing my fingers.
Thanks for checking my blog out!
Yeah the Agatha thing is ridiculous, every single time each of the names get worse.
Heres how I see Brave New World being good- Follow a grounded realistic approach to the movie, make sure the fighting is actually choreographed and not CGI baloney they keep using. Then they have to make a compelling story, all of these reasons are why I thought Winter Soldier was one of the best Marvel movies- The bad guys need to be dangerous enough to make an impact, but not some new world ending threat they introduce in every movie.
In all, Marvel cannot try to top what they already have, stop trying to make bigger threats than Thanos, Endgame and Far From Home modeled this. Far From Home was nowhere near the scale of Endgame, but was still a very enjoyable movie.
Also, about Brave New World, about a year back there seemed to have been a description on the movie’s plot- I’m not sure how true it’ll end up being, but this is what it sounds like the plot will be:
It’s discovered that Tiamut Island (the celestial protruding from the sea in Eternals) is made of Adamantium, some new metallic resource. President Thunderbolt Ross wants ahold of it, and Captain America is trying to prevent that.
…or something along those lines.
oh boy...
