Introduction
Word 1: Midnight
Seems a bit sus of the noun generator to pick this word first, as it reminds me of the difficult deadline I have for this blog... Anyways, here are a few facts that I found:
- Solar midnight is the time of night when the sun is closest to the nadir, the exact time in between sunrise and sunset.
- Following the previous question, nadir is the time of night when a sphere, such as a planet or a star is directly below an observer.
- It is actually incorrect to call midnight "12:00AM" or "00:00AM". Since AM means before noon and PM means after noon, what do you use for noon? This also applies to midnight, as it is the direct middle between AM and PM. What do you think?
Word 2: Grandmother
Although the word was grandmother, I couldn't really find any facts specifically about grandmothers, so I am just stating interesting facts about grandparents. Sorry.
- 72% of all grandparents, including grandmothers is the most important part of their lives.
- 43% of all grandparents actually play sports! Who knew that grandparents could be so active?
- This fact is a little bit more surprising that the rest, although the act of grandparents baking cookies for their grandchildren isn't that surprising. Apparently, 86% of all grandparents actually bake cookies for their children and grand-children!
Word 3: Sector
Word 4: Clothes
- This many seem very surprising, but it actually takes over 700 GALLONS worth of water to make a singular cotton shirt. Doesn't seem the most useful with our current world situation like over-population, but I guess its for a good cause?
- Almost all textiles are able to be recycled, around 95% to be exact.
- Surprisingly enough, clothes have actually dropped in prices. Since 1992, clothes prices have dropped dramatically by 8.5%. It doesn't seem like a lot, but it definitely makes a huge difference on a larger scale.
Word 5: Percentage
%
Oh my gosh! Look at it! Its so beautiful I'm about to cry. It looked so satisfying, how the slant perfectly fits through the two o's. Also how it looks so compact! (Sorry, I got a bit lazy. But I'm totally an amazing actor when it comes to percentage symbols... wait... aren't I?)
Conclusion
Before I end, please don't stop posting blogs just because you want to see more of this blog. Even though I enjoy making these blogs every once in a while, they get a bit annoying to do the research, especially in pitch black dark 30 minutes away from midnight while having mild sleep deprivation and lack of concentration in the past week.
Also, I think the current convention of 12 PM in the noon and 12 AM at midnight is correct, because if exactly 12:00:00 is midday, then 12:00:01 is After Midday, which means that the majority of the minute of 12:00 is After Midday, so PM, and same with Midnight.
Also, I'm a bit skeptical of the Grandparents baking cookies fact, I DEMAND INFORMATION ON THE DEMOGRAPHICS OF THE STUDY
Wow, it was really fun to think of all of this, this great food for thought, it'll be fun to see more :)
can we volunteer to put up jetpunk advertisements in our cities lol
