CHAOS : Act 1
Scene 1 : Russian Waters in the Bering Sea / Washington DC
A US submarine is caught in Russian waters. In retaliation, Russia launches six ICBMs at major cities. In the White House, a Russian assassin kills the President before he can give the order to launch the defensive missiles. The ICBMs strike, causing the US to go on high alert. Outraged at the President’s murder, an armed group of his supporters storm the Capitol, seizing control. Vice President Morgan Extress is taken to a high security bunker, where he locks down the country and deploys the National Guard to the obliterated cities.
Scene 2 : Jerusalem
Scene 3 : UN Emergency Meeting in Geneva / London / Moscow
At a United Nations emergency meeting, the world’s governments condemn Russia, with Great Britain and France mobilizing for an immediate counter-strike. The following morning, simultaneous explosions obliterate Westminster Palace and the Kremlin with both the Russian President and the British PM in residence.
Scene 4 : Upstate Maine
A rogue cult named Tenebrous and their leader, the doomsday fanatic J.R. Hawcutt, hijack the airwaves and broadcast that the End of Days has arrived, causing mass chaos to erupt. Martial law is declared around the world as the lead proponent of nuclear disarmament, Polish nuclear scientist Elber Muon, broadcasts a speech detailing the various outcomes of nuclear warfare scenarios.
Scene 5 : Somewhere in the Australian Outback
In the Outback, an army of Australian nationalists led by ex-Special Forces operative Jalen Amagua, a former disciple of J.R. Hawcutt, prepare for revolution.
Scene 6 : Beijing / Cities Around the World
In Beijing, a false nuclear alarm triggers an explosion of mass rioting and spreads distrust around the globe. Tenebrous fuels the fear and paves the way for anarchy to reign. All around the world, it becomes every man for himself as governments are dismantled, soldiers overrun, weapons seized, looters get to work, and families are torn apart.
Scene 7 : San Francisco
In the midst of the chaos is David Stowe, a former Army cadet who was expelled from West Point. He and his family are abandoning their home in San Francisco in favor of reaching a secluded lodge high in the Rocky Mountains. On the Golden Gate Bridge, their car is blindsided and his mother and father are gunned down by masked looters swarming the bridge. In the ensuing chaos, David is separated from his sister Mel and is forced to take cover. David is able to escape off the bridge following a National Guard incursion, but is unable to find his sister in the aftermath. Resolving to get to the lodge himself, David steals a Jeep and takes off for the desert.
Scene 8 : Cairo
J.R. Hawcutt meets with an Egyptian warlord and offers to sponsor him if he agrees to cause chaos in the nation. The warlord accepts his proposal and sets off a bomb during a peaceful protest in Tahrir Square. The tenuous peace in the country shatters, with embassies being captured and the Pyramids being destroyed.
Scene 9 : Monrovia
In the last free African nation, Liberia, a Singaporean doctor discovers mutated strains of a super-virus with the transmission capability of a coronavirus and the deadliness of Ebola.
Scene 10 : Aberdeen, Pennsylvania
In rural Aberdeen, Pennsylvania, Lyles Madge is attending a service at an African-American church. During the pastor’s sermon, three White men assault the church, killing the security guards. They enter the sanctuary and open fire on the worshippers. Ducking under his pew in the back, Lyles watches as his fellow members are executed in front of the cross, his sister included. Lyles escapes silently and hides in a basement. He phones his friend, corner kingpin Keefe, and asks for sanctuary.
Scene 11 : Brisbane
Jalen Amagua and his nationalists infiltrate a high-security electrical field in Brisbane and detonate an EMP, shutting down all power in the island nation. Amagua dispenses his troops around the island, locking it down.
Scene 12 : Flight 76354 en route to Santiago
The electrical outage short-circuits systems on Australian Airlines Flight 76354 en route to Santiago, carrying 136 employees of Thurman Light Industries. The plane nosedives, crashing in the Andes Mountains and leaving only two survivors who were thrown from the plane.
Scene 13 : Nairobi
In Nairobi, the strain of super-virus, now being called VAS, erupts. Infected citizens riot in the town square, with National Guards doing their best to keep them at bay. As the entire city becomes infected, the call comes to liquidate the city. Mustafa Wanayi, whose mother had gone to the riots, leaves his flat and goes into the streets. He steals food from a diseased vendor and escapes to the train station as the riots become uglier. Mustafa just catches the last train out to Johannesburg before rioters storm the station.
Scene 14 : Warsaw
In Warsaw, leading nuclear scientist Elber Muon walks along the winding path in Ładovská Park. He is accosted by a man in a brown suit who apologizes before spraying Dr. Muon with a VX agent, poisoning the doctor and killing him after he falls to the ground. The man makes a call and asserts that the job is done before demanding a flight to Moscow.
Scene 15 : Outside San Francisco
David Stowe escapes the San Francisco city limits. At a derelict gas station protected by armed guards, David fills his tank and speaks with the manager, paying for a week’s provisions and two extra cans of gas. David leaves quickly and pulls onto the semi-deserted Interstate 80.
Scene 16 : Toronto / London
J.R. Hawcutt instigates a hostile takeover of the CN Tower in Toronto, giving Tenebrous the largest media presence in North America. He uses contacts in Iran to launch nuclear missiles that irradiate Antarctica, accelerating the melting of the ice caps. He uses his media presence to blame Iran for the destruction of the continent, convincing Britain’s new PM enough to counter-fire, obliterating Tehran and guaranteeing a small-scale nuclear war.
Scene 17 : Sydney
Jalen Amagua leads a phalanx of tanks into Sydney, where he learns of Hawcutt’s deed. Angered at his former idol for threatening the stability of his future empire and for casting him out of Tenebrous, Amagua vows to kill him.
Scene 18 : Ibiza
Spanish nationalists storm the beaches at Ibiza, killing partygoers and capturing others to be used as hostages. The nationalists barricade the island and threaten to execute the hostages unless the Spanish government answer their demands.
Scene 19 : Philadelphia
Lyles Madge meets with Keefe in his club, the Blue Royal. Keefe, a graduate of the Naval Academy in Annapolis, provides Lyles with three guns and his graduate pin, which he says will get Lyles access to either the Naval Academy or West Point, whom Keefe notes has gone radio silent. Lyles asks for a plane ticket as well, but Keefe points out that air travel is risky business nowadays so he provides Lyles with a souped-up, armored minivan. Lyles drives away.
Scene 20 : Cali
In Cali, a policeman is called to a suburb to deal with a triple homicide. When he arrives, he finds the streets in chaos. He is surrounded by the men who called in the homicide, revealed to be a fake, and is persuaded at gunpoint to release Roberto Aguáyo-Sanchez, a revolutionary and priest responsible for a previous uprising that killed 236 people.
Scene 21 : Bangkok
In a Bangkok suburb, an arsonist sets a holy temple on fire. As a fire truck races through the streets, citizens infected with the VAS virus step in front of the truck, committing suicide. Before the truck can reach the temple, a car bomb explodes, flipping the fire truck on its side. The firemen get out and are attacked by infected citizens, who they keep at bay with their powerful water hoses.
Scene 22 : Siberia / Secure Bunker in Washington DC
At a rural nuclear silo in Siberia, an alarm goes off, forcing the single man in the silo into action. With his radar down due to a blizzard and the Russian Minister of Defense in his ear, the silo man is forced to make a decision on whether or not the threat is real. The man decides it is and launches the defense missile. His guess turns out to be correct as two missiles collide in the clouds, producing a massive fireball. In the secure bunker, VP Morgan Extress is informed that their missile did not make impact. At his aide’s urging, the Vice President goes to launch another one; however, he stops himself and refuses to launch it. The aide reveals himself to be a member of the group that stormed the Capitol and kills both Extress and the Secret Service members before assuming control of the United States’s nuclear arsenal.
