All about Liberland!

+1

Hey guys, before we get into the blog, there is a Youtube video I found interviewing the interior minister of Liberland. The video is simply titled, "What is Liberland?," by Josh Friedman. Enjoy the blog!

What Liberland is

Liberland is a non-recognized nation aside from some other non-recognized nations like Somaliland. It lies between Croatia and Serbia on this little chunk of land. Apparently neither or both of the countries claimed it but didn't really pay much attention to it. Croatia and Serbia are actually some of the countries supporting Liberlands freedom yet they still don't recognize it, according to a government official of Liberland.

Liberland description

This was a section on the Liberland page called, "History," and it basically tells you about, well, the history of Liberland very briefly.

The Free Republic o f Liberland is a sovereign state located between Croatia and Serbia on the west bank of the Danube river. On some maps, this area is referred to as, "Gornja Siga." The nearest towns are Zmajevac (Croatia) and Backi Monostor (Autonomous province of Vojvodina, Serbia.)

Fun facts about Liberland and my opinion on it

Honestly, the nation was founded by a Czech activist, and it's biggest trading partner is literally Somaliland. Even though the founder was Czech and the country itself is inbetween Serbia and Croatia, the official language is English, which kinda makes no sense. I guess the founder decided that English was better than Czech and I assume he spoke English too, because the Liberland description is written in the language. I think the Mr Vit Jedlicka (The founder) was just a geography nerd and just needed to discover Jetpunk. Thanks for reading my blog if you got to the end, and enjoy the rest of your day!
