+3

Welcome to the Balkans, a region bordering the Adriatic Sea, Mediterranean Sea, Aegean Sea, Sea of Mamara, Black Sea, and Austria-Hungary.

Bloody Plains

Cries echo over the plains of Bulgaria. A week into conflict, 10,000 deaths. Many wounded. Advancing towards Belgrade, Athens, and Tirana, the Bulgarians hunger for war.

Our nations on the eve of war

The war progresses, and the Bulgarians take the march towards Thessaloniki. The Greek forces are trapped, and surrender the city on July 15. The Greeks send a force of 3,000 towards Katerini, in Greece, setting up defenses from Katerini to Ioannina on July 17. In Serbia, the Bulgarians take Nis on July 9, and Skopje on August 13. A force of 1,000 men from the Greek front take Bitola on August 14, and the main force takes Tetovo on August 17 and Priziren on August 19.

The war as of August 20.

The Serbian government sends out a cry for help, and the Montenegrins join the war August 23. The Albanian government decides to leave the Serbians, as they are not against the Bulgarians, and were pulled into the war by the Serbians. They make a deal behind closed doors: The Albanians will collect intel on the front lines and send it by telegraph through a secure line into Serbian Macedonia. They will also join the Bulgarians and fight starting September 30.

The Bulgarians now have an ally, and start pushing in from the region of Kosovo. Pristina falls on August 31, Pec falls on September 2. In Greece, Katerini falls on September 5, ending a 19-day trench war.

In another closed-doors conference, the Bulgarians, Albanians, and Ottomans discuss a naval invasion of Greece, and Bulgaria pulls the Ottomans and the Albanians in on September 4. The Eastern Aegean islands fell to the Ottomans between September 7 and September 14.

September 15

The Serbian front has spread to Montenegro, and anarchists take Crete on September 17.  They establish the Cretan Sultanate, a cult of devout Muslims. They ally with the Ottomans.

The town of Pec, in Serbia, falls on September 17, and Kragujevac falls on the 18th. In Greece, the Albanians take the island of Corfu on the 21st, and Ioannina falls on the 23rd. The Greeks retreat to Agrinio in the west and Volos in the east. Larissa falls on the 24th, and Volos on the 26th. A wave 0f 5,600 marches on Agrinio, reaching the city by dusk on the 27th. Agrinio falls on the 29th, and on October 1, Albanian troops are on the Peloponnese, landing 3 km from Patra. Lamia falls on October 2, and Chalkida on the 9th. The Corinth Canal is seized on the 11th, and Tripoli falls on the 15th. The Ottomans land at Piraiavs on the 17th, and Athens is under siege. The Greeks surrender.

In the northern front, Montenegro's capital, Podgorica, falls September 23, and the nation capitulates on the 24th. In Serbia, the Bulgarians and Albanians reach Belgrade on September 30, and the capital falls October 5th. Treaties are proposed.

Treaty A is in red, Treaty B is Purple When they overlap, it is purple.

Treaty A gives Albania southern Montenegro, Southwest Serbia, and Northwest Greece. It gives Bulgaria Eastern Serbia, and Greece east of Thessaloniki. The Ottomans get the islands of the Aegean Sea excluding Crete and the Dodecanese.

Treaty B gives Montenegro to Albania, and parts of Northwestern Serbia and Greece. The Bulgarians get Northeastern Serbia, and parts of Greece west of Thessaloniki. The Ottomans get Athens and the Peloponnese.

A third treaty was designed, and won. Bulgaria and Albania split 75% of Serbia, and the 25% left became a vassal to The Balkan League. Greece was split 10% to Albania, 25% to Bulgaria, 10% to Ottomans, 10% to Cretan Sultanate, 45% to Greek Vassal.

Thanks. I've seen some other alternate futures/histories, and most are either very deep, like down to politics and tech, or are just stories, only having war and alliance, not describing advancement or attack. Thanks!
