#51 is just failure to properly analyse responses, or set up the research properly. If it's open answer, you're more likely to mention something you've experienced. And it's also not ranked. Maybe more people are somewhat afraid of public speaking but fewer are very afraid of dying.

Similarly I've seen a "research" (some magazine I guess) about what women hate most about men and not putting down toilet seat or something like that came first. I'm pretty sure they'd mind even more getting beaten up every day, but fortunately that's not the first thing that comes to mind for most.
