Robbie Williams is massively popular in England, but for some reason, he has never made a dent in the United States. There's another one too...Cliff Richard, I think, or something like that. I don't know why their popularity never crossed the pond.

Robbie Williams is really popupar here in Europe. In the same time, nobody listens to Country music here.

Nu metal is probably one of the only music subgenres whose most famous examples are also among its worst.

I don't know about that. Often the music of any "genre" that becomes popular and mainstream is among the worst examples of that genre. Though I don't know of any "Nu Metal" better than Limp Bizkit or Korn, I can think of examples of what I said that are worse than either of them.

Personally, I think it's disgraceful that this quiz accepts "Mix-a-Lot" without the "Sir." Give the man his hard-earned title!

Agreed. After all, he was knighted by the King and Queen of Big Butts. Use the proper title.

Give it a listen. Good harmonies. Ghost is a great tune.

Not that local. They have multiple gold and platinum certified albums. Though they never had any huge number one hits, they got pretty consistent airplay. You might recognize some of their music if you heard it, like Closer to Fine, Galileo, or Hammer and a Nail.

Excellent advice. That was how I got this one--was thinking of Faith Hill as a possible answer to the country music question.

I got seven and should have had another one - somehow skipped the Whitney Houston clue. This was the decade my kids were in high school, but I was surprised that didn't seem to help me on this one except for the boy band.

It should be Boyz II Men, not Boys II Men. And aren't they considered a boy band too? Surely they beat the Backstreet Boys in the 90's? Not sure if the statistic is based just on album sales or not but Boyz II Men had something like 50 weeks at number 1 with various songs; meanwhile the Backstreet Boys never even had a single number 1 song.

It's probably album sales. Backstreet Boys have sold 100 million records vs. only 60 million for Boyz II Men

Ashamed to say that I got MC Hammer from thinking wrong on the Big Butts question. Quickly realized my mistake afterwards and gave proper credit where it was due, but still.
