Vacated wins should not be included, but "vacating" does not make sense. The team should have to forfeit games, not vacate.

You need to indicate "all-time wins for current FBS schools." Otherwise Yale, Penn, Harvard, Mount Union, Lehigh, and many others would on there.

Was there any doubt about who would be on top. If I look straight down the list from Michigan I'd be able to see Ohio State if Texas, Notre Dame, Nebraska, and Alabama weren't in the way. :) Go Blue!

What about those 20 wins last two seasons combined? At this rate, it would take about 10-15 years for Bama to catch Michigan. It depends on what you count as a long time.

You're lucky UM had all of those "turn of the century" wins because during the Carr/Hoke/Rodriguez years, you had a much different tune......let's see if the booger eater can keep things going, I doubt it. GO BUCKS!!!!

Funny seeing them on here and yet no FSU. Had a lot of family that went to FSU including my sister who was there when they dominated the whole league. and then several years later when VT actually did well for a change everyone acted like it was a fluke. I guess things were different before the 90s? Or have been different in the last decade?

For the first half of the twentieth century, FSU was the Florida State College for Women. They have played a lot fewer seasons than most of the schools on this list.

yeah I assumed that the explanation was something along those lines. Thanks for filling me in. :) My uncle must have been among the first male students there. Generally the schools above are very old and well established. It would be a totally different quiz probably if they looked at win % instead of total wins, then newer schools would not be at such a disadvantage.

These are college teams so two-thirds of them could be answered if one just names every US state, then names them again adding "state" to the name - Michigan (University of Michigan) and Michigan State (Michigan State University), etc.

A forfeit is when a team can't play for various reasons, the game is not played, and their opponent is give a win - it is as if the game were played and the forfeiting team lost. A vacated win is when a game is played and then the winning team is later accused of something, found 'guilty', and as punishment, their wins are 'taken away' but their opponent is still credited with the loss ( i.e., no one is credited with a win for that game).
