Cool quiz idea. Too bad I didn't know McFly was the band name because I typed Marty McFly and that didn't work.

It really ought to require Four Seasons instead of just Seasons.

Interestingly enough, there is an Indie band named "Duchess of York."

I was going to say 'but you've probably never heard of them' "ironically," but it still read as uptight and pretentious, so nevermind.

Can you rephrase the Austrian Archduke one? I thought you were looking for the person who assassinated him.

maybe it's just me, but for TV pundits my first thought was "Spin Doctors"

Ha. That's not bad. I think "spin doctors" is a broader term though. It can apply to all manner of PR people, not just the ones who go on TV. Talking Heads is limited to just those people on television, so I think it's the right answer.

Never heard of McFly, Bastille, MGMT or Beirut. Only got those first two because the clue was good. Kept trying Mgt, which is the usual abbreviation for management, and couldn't remember the capital of Lebanon. Otherwise, the clues were good enough that the average person could get a lot of them even if they've never heard of the bands.

I didn't know McFly or Beirut either. MGMT was really popular for a brief period around 2008-2009 (I think), and Bastille had a big hit in 2014 with a song called "Pompeii." I think they've hung around since, but their moment in the sun has probably passed...

Texas is a Dixieland state, though more on the west side than the heart. Great band too.

According to Wikipedia, Texas, Virginia, Florida, and Kentucky are sometimes included as part of Dixie, and Missouri, Oklahoma, and West Virginia are included by a few, but most often it includes the states of Arkansas and Louisiana eastward to the coast.

As a Virginian, I have to say..."sometimes" considered part of Dixie??? Richmond was the capital of the Confederacy! And if you live in most of Virginia for any length of time, you'll quickly realize it's Dixie.

Yeap, I tried Texas as well. Can it not be accepted as a type in, given it is part of Dixie and a band? That question is tough enough for us non Americans.

"Fergie" isn't the former Duchess of York. She is no longer HRH but, stupidly, even though she was divorced years ago she is still allowed to be called Duchess. Only if Andrew or her marry someone else, will she have to drop the title. She will probably never do this as she wants to retain her "status" as Duchess (especially as she is held in high esteem by some gullible Americans).
