If you know him as James Gatz, surely you also know Jay Gatsby.

Actually all I could come up with was James Gatz. Since that is his real name, can't that be accepted also? It's not like it's incorrect.

No. This is absurd. The book is called "The Great Gatsby." He is called "Jay Gatsby" 500 times, and he is called "James Gatz" maybe twice. Everyone knows who Jay Gatsby is. That's the character's name. There is no reason to call him James Gatz but to attempt to one-up everyone else and try to show off. The answer is Jay Gatsby. If you cannot come up with Jay Gatsby, you shouldn't get credit for the answer.

You can't accept James Gatz because James is Bond's name. All the J names are unique.

I haven't even seen Star Wars properly and I still got it (half luck, but still). Jar Jar seems like a pretty infamous sort of character.

I don't understand how Jigglypuff is balloon-like. I mean, Drifloon is the "Balloon Pokemon", and I'd say for J answers, Jumpluff is more balloon-like than Jigglypuff.

Jumpluff will work now.

Jumpluff can't fill itself with air, can it? I'd say that's how you would qualify it for being a balloon Pokemon.

I actually got the Gatsby one while making an incorrect guess for the Twilight one. But I didn't know either.

All I could think of for the Pink Panther clue was Inspector Clouseau - didn't remember his first name. Then when I saw the answer at first I thought it said Jacques Cousteau, and I really got confused. It's time for another cup of coffee.

OI, I liked Jar Jar! Before I denounced Star Wars as the worthless piece of junk it is... GO STAR TREK! I never thought I'd be on that side. Now I am. Forever.

I typed in Jacque Clouseau. I think you should have accepted that. Also, while I got Jean-Luc Picard right I first typed in James T. Kirk. Generally you want these to have just one correct answer.

It does say French captain, and James T. Kirk certainly isn't French. So there is only one correct answer.

Ishmael of Moby Dick. Impa, Zelda's handmaiden. Imperius Rex, alias of Namor, the Sub-Mariner. Stephen King's It. Iceman, from X-Men or Top Gun. Imhotep from the Mummy movie, though he's based on a real guy. Illyana Rasputin, Colossus' sister aka Magik. Icarus, of Greek mythology. Isis, of Egyptian mythology. Iggy, of the Sunday comic strips. Oh wait, that's Ziggy. There's Iggy Koopa from Super Mario Bros. Icon, short-lived superhero of the 90s.

Why don't you get started on one? I gave you some ideas. A lot of those are probably too obscure for most people to guess but that was just off the top of my head.

I think most of those arent obscure at all. I think illyana is, and perhaps imperius rex, but the others are quite common knowledge i would say. You could add indiana (jones) igor (frankenstein) Inigo montoya (i came across him on jetpunk several times, didnt know it before then) iron man (though maybe not really a first name, then again.. neither is friar tuck..for instance) those are the ones that immediately spring to mind for me (besides some you allready named, mainly the mythology ones).

and maybe invanhoe and isolde (tristan) ichabod crane. There are tonnes wellknown ones :)

You should state that the question about star trek is the new version, I spent ages trying to type james.T.Kirk in different ways as he was the captain of the old series.
