1975 World Series, one of the greatest ever, and it seems all anyone remembers is Fisk's HR. Historic moment, no doubt, but as Johnny Bench said years later about how that Series is often remembered, tongue firmly planted in cheek, "The Red Sox won, 3 games to 4."

Along with Robinson, my hero is Roberto Clemente. An incredible 5-tool player and humanitarian, thus the award is named for him. There is a movement to retire his #21 as well, which I would support. The world needs more people like him; who thinks of others in need and does something about it.

Savage....I am a baseball fan and missed only five of the 48 questions. Sadly, that was good enough only to get me 3/5 points. There are some FANS taking this quiz!

Wikipedia entry on 1969 New York Mets season: "The team is often referred to as the "Amazin' Mets" (a nickname coined by Casey Stengel, who managed the team from their inaugural season to 1965) or the "Miracle Mets"."

"Amazin' " mostly refers to the Mets of the Stengel era (although it continues to be used at times to this day). "Miracle" specifically refers to the 1969 World Series champions.

Didn't Jackie Robinson play a bunch of games for the KC Monarchs in the Negro Leagues? He was inducted in 1962... so doesn't that make him he first former Negro Leaguer to be inducted in the HOF?

You are technically correct. (The best kind of correct). The question has been amended slightly.

Love the print given to the Mets here!...even if one of them is ignominious. And Pete Alonso smashed 53 home runs in 2019 to overtake McGwire's rookie record. (I know the question is correct, just showing the Polar Bear some love.)

A question about Disco Demolition Night but nothing about the shorts the 75 White Sox wore? Bill Veeck was a marketing genius.

Hi, there! Thank you for this challenging quiz. I found one minor update: when Disco Demolition Night occurred, the Chicago White Sox' stadium was known as Comiskey Park instead of Comiskey Field. In fact, even though the name has officially changed since then, many Chicagoans still call it that, or simply White Sox Park. The stadium on the other side of town, of course, is called Wrigley Field.
