It was actually quite a wild guess for me, as well! I speak Hebrew and 'Sin' is the Hebrew word for China, so I just said 'for the gags let's see if it works', and it did!

Not to quibble, but "the mind" could also be neurology. And "word origins" could also be lexicology.

neurology is the study of the nervous system and brain function as physical object. the study of the mind (intangible) is psychology. different.

As we have come to (and continue to increasingly) understand that the mind and brain are the same thing, these two fields have begun to significantly overlap.

No, etymology studies specifically the origins of a word, lexicology is the studies of words and the relationship between them ( and yes it can sometimes involve etymology)

(and might ve guessed cosmetology and sinology, I knew it was china written in a different way, had no time to try anything though)

The definition of archaelogy given here seems a bit misleading and threw me off track. It should be the study of ancient cultures and/or human history and prehistory through the excavation of sites and the analysis of artifacts and other physical remains. I mean given that, most people will recall Indiana Jones, right?

OK, got Kremlinology just because I was at the end and just started typing in everything popularly known as Russian or USSR related. That said, I never heard of it so I googled it and Kremlinology is actually only related to "Russia". Sovietology is related to "Soviet" I think the clue should be changed as they are NOT the same entity. Yes, Russia was part of the USSR, but the USSR has t's own history separate of Russia.
