Agreed. Recife is one of Brazil's most important cities. It is large and is notable for it being the easternmost city in South America. It should be on here.
Being Brazilian, I agree 200%. Recife is one of the most important cities in Brazil. Much of Brazil's tourism occurs in this region. Recife owns the best HDI in the Northeast, has the 4th largest urban agglomeration in Brazil, and is the richest metropolis in Brazil. It is the oldest of the Brazilian capitals, plays a strong centralizing role in its state and region: it houses the headquarters of organs and institutions such as Sudene, Eletrobras Chesf, the Military Command of the Northeast, Cindacta III, the TRF of the 5th Region, among many others, and the largest number of foreign consulates outside the Rio-São Paulo axis, with Consulates-General in countries such as the United States, China, Germany, France and the United Kingdom. The municipality was elected by MasterCard Worldwide research as one of the 65 most developed economically developed cities in the emerging markets in the world. Recife is a very important city for Brazil, and I am surprised to see that Recife isn't here.
Recife plays an important role in the economy of Brazil, mainly with tourism, further south, with Porto de Galinhas. Recife also has a strong economy, made up of the tertiary sector of the economy. The tourism sector also has a significant expression in the economy of Recife. In 2015, Recife was identified as the sixth most competitive destination in national tourism according to a study by FGV. In 2011, the metropolitan region of Recife had 372 accommodation establishments, ranking as the second largest offer in the Northeast region. The well-known Pernambuco carnival and the city's medical center are two important attractors of leisure and business tourists, moving billions of reais a year. Recife has, on the side of the border with the city of Jaboatão dos Guararapes, one of the largest airports in Brazil. It takes flights to several cities in the country, and to twelve more international destinations. Recife is prosperous and developed, and I don't know why it is not in this quiz.
I'm an American and I got eight, I was guessing most of the time. Of the ones I got, I only knew Belo Horizonte (process of elimination, guessed BH for Brasilia and knew the next one had to be it), Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Porto Alegre, Fortaleza, and Manaus
