Oceania is quite clearly more of a region than Australasia. There is a fair and convincing argument to be made that New Guinea and Australia share a continent. But does Fiji share a continent with Australia? Does Tuvalu? By no definition I can think of, and yet Oceania typically includes all those places.
Hahaha! I love it with all these english speakers arguing about what a "continent" is. Do like us Swedes, keep it between "världsdelar" and "kontinenter". (;
What is the problem with some of you quiztakers, if you want more difficult quizzes there are plenty in jetpunk, stop whingeing and cut out the "Too much time' ....whinge ......... whinge", just because you can type quickly does not mean you are cleverer or wiser or anything else, you just become part of a whingeing mob.
i feel bad for the 1% who didn't get africa, europe, and asia. also for the 2% who didnt get the americas and oceania for the 4% and antarctica the 7%. antarctica was actually discovered after uranus. Uranus:1780. Antarctica:1820. dont believe me? look it up.
Yea not really, eventhough that is what it says. (Bugs me everytime i see it btw) if 100 people take a test and 90 got all of them right (and 10 dont) then all of those 90 people will get the you ve beaten 100% while in fact they have only beaten 10%.
you could just aswell say you ve been beaten by 90%, cause you didnt get a better score than them. If equalling means beating someone, you been beaten by a lot of people.
i guess it would be bad for the egos when getting a quiz 100% and then hearing you only beat 10% or something. I can envision the chaos and the tantrums now. So eventhough it is wrong, one has beaten others when they score exactly the same. I can see quizmasters reasoning now. You got to keep them content
Nothing wrong with someone posting an easy quiz that kids could take and hope to complete in time. Not everything here has to be difficult. Complaining about it just makes you sound bitter and jealous that a quiz was featured when one of yours wasn't. Buck up, sissypants!
All the people complaining about points on this quiz annoy me. Isn't it nice to take a break every once in a while and still be able to raise your level while doing so? It's not like 90% of featured quizzes are this easy. Think about the people who are less skilled at geography on this geography-centric site. Don't they deserve the same amount of points we get for a quiz they might find challenging? Or should we make them feel worse because they only got 100% on a "one point quiz?"
It's not. It's just a chain of islands. It's part of the region of Oceania, but a region is different from a continent. Australia is the continent itself, while New Zealand, Fiji, Tonga, etc. are just islands that are grouped with it for convenience.
In a simple point of view, if you distinguish Asia and Europe and North America with South America, you're only dealing with political continents, therefore you should use Oceania only.
If you speak about geological continents you'll have only Eurasia and one America and indeed in English Australia.
(And if you speak acording to the Olympic Comitee you have 5 continents with America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Oceania).
...yes, just like Europe, Asia, and Africa are just as much one continent because they are part of the same landmass. Or at least Europe and Asia are because the only seperation is some mountains and straits, instead of actual ocean.
North and South America should be considered one continent, as should Europe and Asia. We could name the first continent America and the latter Eurasia. Memorizing the names of seven continents is far too much information for the human mind to absorb and regurgitate on command.
Well, you could make the distinction that the Suez canal counts as a continent boundary because it's a complete cut through the land at sea level, while the Panama "canal" is mostly a big lake at around 85 feet elevation.
Quizmaster! Australia as a continent term only contains the countries of Australia, Papua New Guinea, and portions of Indonesia.[1] However, Oceania refers to the geographical region that includes the countries mentioned previously, as well as New Zealand and all of other the micronations and island-countries in the pacific.[2] Because you included these other island nations as part of the continent of Australia in this quiz, you are incorrect. National Geographic, Google, the World Atlas, and many other sites disagree with your choice. Put Oceania in brackets or remove the micronations and island-countries as part of the continent of Australia because that is WRONG!
I think the border between Eurasia is wayyy to far East. It is a straight line going South to the Black Sea and North to the Arctic and it passes through the Eastern most part of Ukraine
2. Does not accept 'Andardikuh' for Antarctica.
3. Way too much time allowed. I would recommend 7 seconds.
4. Pangaea covers all of them.

The places in the original version of the board game "Monopoly" were inspired by Atlantic City, New Jersey.
I got this as my "interesting fact" but it's incorrect. Monopoly was inspired by London.
