Should that be 'peniNsula'? Or is there something about Thailand someone's not telling me?

Should you not ask for the former name first or mention Thailand, because I thought you wanted the former name of Bangkok.

I know, right? I tried typing in "Krungthepmahanakhon Amonrattanakosin Mahintharayutthaya Mahadilokphop Noppharatratchathaniburirom Udomratchaniwetmahasathan Amonphimanawatansathit Sakkathattiyawitsanukamprasit" and was really disappointed that it didn't work.

It says "former capital," and provides dates for when Bangkok was not the capital city, it doesn't say "former name of the capital," and even if it did that wouldn't be accurate since the long name of Bangkok is still (presently) the official name of the city not the former name. The clue is clear.

I was talking about question number two though - former name.... of the first question, or the country. That was not, and still is not clear.

That question was pretty clear, too. It doesn't say "former name of the above," just "former name," referencing the subject of the quiz.

And before someone pipes in like is fashionable and says because it's not related to the tide, well, no kidding. It's descriptive that it's like a tide in a wave. The in vogue so-called correct term "tsunami" literally means "harbor wave", which is far less descriptive or accurate.

I'm surprised that there wasn't a mention that Bhumibol Adulyadej played Saxophone for President Clinton when the latter visited Thailand.
