lol Who would type this? Me. I totally typed day gecko (and it did accept it). Geckos aren't green. Leopard geckos are pale with dark spots, tokay geckos are blue with red or orange spots. But, day geckos like that one are totally green.
That looks like the giant green praying mantis that has invaded my yard and garden. They are killing all my black and yellow garden spiders and I've heard they will eat hummingbirds, too. They are huge! I had to be careful when picking my pole green beans, because several times I went to pick a long, fat green bean only to discover it was one of those monsters hanging on the vine. I never see my little brown praying mantis friends anymore. I'm guessing these goliaths ate them.
Excellent quiz! As a side note, would it be possible to find a better picture for the Green Berets? In the picture it looked more black than green. I've made a few quizzes myself though, so I understand that finding good pictures can sometimes be extremely hard!
The UK? Really? My mum loves it and I think everyone I know would at least be aware of it, albeit perhaps without knowing who Oscar is. There was even a Northern Irish adaptation (that I may or may not have been in), Sesame Tree. Oscar also made a cameo there.
As a Canadian, I must protest. It's been around in Canada almost as long as it has been in the USA, and since households in almost all Canadian cities have traditionally received US television stations (including PBS) there's no appreciable difference in popularity between here and the USA.
I was a kid in the 70s and definitely grew up watching Sesame Street.
Because okra is the American name and JetPunk is, well...
I agree 100% that ladyfinger should absolutely be accepted as well, e.g.: as a type-in. But it's not unreasonable for okra to be the default/displayed answer there.
Can you please change it to Kiwi Fruit instead of Kiwi? I find it slightly insulting knowing that people around the world call Kiwi fruit Kiwi's, when Kiwi is our bird and what we call ourselves...

Lady fingers are cookies in the US, and uses to make tiramisu or to make babies stop crying. Okra would be terrible for either of those applications.
