Got it! The countries listed are the borders of a country that the Equator passes through. There are 11 countries that the Equator passes through, and the missing one is São Tomé and Príncipe!

Darn, this would have been the first one I completely solved on my own. I got the 10 countries, but couldn't figure out what they signified.
