This quiz includes birds that are all by themselves, the last surviving member of their respevctive families. Unless you have a very extensive knowledge of birds of the world, don't expect to get many answers right, as a lot of these are not well known.
Thanks, that was a wonderful quiz! I sat there staring at the screen, looking at the pictures of some of the birds, knowing that I'd actually seen them in the field, remembered where the bird was, and when I saw it--but could not remember the name! The Spotted Elachura was semi-in that category--but I spent the better part of two days listening to the Spotted Elachura, and never ever getting even the tiniest glimpse of the bird, even though it was less than two meters away for much of that time!
Thanks, I added it! I think I made this quiz before it was widely accepted to be in a separate family from New World Warblers, but it is quite possible that I just missed it.
Nice quiz! I got 24 on the first try. I think you could change it so that you don't have to know the complete names. Had the quiz accepted Donacobius, Thrush-Tanager, Ifrit, Bristlehead and Ploughbill, I would have gotten a few more. For many of the passerines the adjectives don't really help, because the name is already unambiguous without them.
