A couple of things I didn't want to put in the caveats but will mention here.

First, take Micronesia's population with a big grain of salt. For some reason, Worldometers thinks its population is over 500,000, which is completely wrong, so I had to make my own estimation based on figures from the 70s.

Second, Serbia and Kosovo's population were also estimated by me. Worldometers recognized Kosovo as a part of Serbia, so Serbia's population included Kosovo. I took an estimation from Wikipedia and subtracted it from Serbia's population.

Finally, I kept going back and forth on whether I should include the continent column. I could see it as giving away too much information and making the quiz too easy, but then again difficulty has never been my goal when making quizzes. My main goal is to use the quiz format to share whatever cool/interesting information I've been looking into. Ultimately I decided to keep it but I'd love to hear your opinions on this.

This is a really cool quiz to compare to the modern day. To see populations like Uganda increasing ninefold is really cool. The most amazing thing here is how the UAE has only 75000 people and Qatar only 25000 people. These countries have made some seriously impressive leaps! I suppose that's what finding oil will do!

I like the continent clue since it can be really hard to get your head around how much this order has changed.

Not only oil but making your country "tax-free" and luring in a ton of slaves, I mean South Asian expats to work

It's honestly crazy to think African countries had such small populations less than a century ago, what industrializing & agricultural economies will do

Anyone know why the Marshall Island's population slumped so hard in the last 10 years? It used to be much higher in the 2000s according to Google

How insane is it to think at one point Japanese families were having several children. Nowadays, they've got a massive aging population on top of a declining population

This is excellent. Some of the leaps in the past 70 years are mind blowing.
