I found this a frustrating quiz. C. lawsoniana is recognized as the Port Orford Cedar where I live (within the species' range). I've never heard anyone call it a Lawson's cypress. I live within the range of P. contorta, where it is called Lodgepole Pine, although in California some people call it Tamarack Pine. I've never anyone call that tree a contorta pine.
