I'm sorry, but how is Canada worse than the United States. Where are Sweden and Finland on the best list and where are North Korea, Somalia, Syria and Yemen on the worst list?

I think the life expectancy and/or their HDI could be affecting America's high rank.

the HDI of Canada is ever so slightly lower than America's (literally 0.01 iirc), and its LE is definitely higher lol.

I live in Canada, and personally I'd much rather live in the United States than stay here. I know United States has problems, but I think it is at least better than Canada.

Some parts of Canada are better than much of the US, but where I live, it's freezing cold half the year, a significant number of people live below the poverty line--there is not a very big middle class, etc. I know the US has some similar problems, but at least it's better than where I live.

It's a beautiful 15 degrees today where we live, so I guess I can't complain :P But you're right, Trump tries to avoid our Democratic state and it's peaceful here. How about exploring a new residence such as Toronto, or SF?
