Firstly, I would like to thank Simon1006 for figuring out how to do this and Stewart for helping with the CSS. Without them, this quiz would not have been possible to make.
The quiz has 51 possible mystery countries - or 9,996 answers in total. More than 51 possible mystery countries would, unfortunately, exceed the 10,000 answer limit. :(
Also, due to the way this quiz is set up, we had to remove the answer cells. Sorry colorblind people
The series has officially ended since no sequels need to be made. We hope you enjoyed the series! :)

to those of you who are saying that this quiz's concept was copied from Globle: this quiz was released months before Globle and even Wordle came out, lol.
You're welcome for giving this quiz 224 takes. I think this is the only quiz which we have gotten 100% on over 200 times (205). Caleb's given this quiz most of its takes and I just listened to him rattle off 44 of the 51 answer countries from memory.
I went beserk when I literally guessed the correct one first. Unfortunately, it was the drc, so I don't get credit for getting it on the first one because the Dominican republic (dr) popped up first.
My favorite tennis player(Novak Djokovic) used to be great, but not the best, but in 2011, everything changed. He started of the season with 43 straight wins, and only lost 6 matches the entire year. From then on, he has dominated Men's tennis. Whenever someone who is already good at something turns the notch up to full throttle, I give them the compliment that they are "pulling of a 2011." And I am giving this compliment to you.
Congrats on your 4th feature(in advance) and top 150 quizmakers.
Also, a small note: If you play the quiz hundreds of times you might begin to memorize the mystery countries and only type in those countries since there are 51 of them (more than 51 would exceed the 10k answer limit, unfortunately). To prevent this from happening, we change the list of mystery countries every two weeks. So if you begin to play the quiz too much and start to memorize the mystery countries, just wait two weeks and the list will be fresh again! :)
I live in Australia and that was my first guess. It was also the random country. In thousands of Jetpunk quizzes this is the first time I have ever managed 5 points with 1 answer.
The quiz has ended, but I can't tell what the right answer was. It has to be a micronation near France and Italy, so I'm guessing that it was Monaco, San Marino, or Vatican City. There has to be a way to tell what the right answer was when the country is too small to show up as a green dot even when zoomed.
Edit: Found it. When I zoom in on Italy, I think there's a single pixel that's less red than the surrounding pixels. Looks like the answer was Vatican City. When I move my mouse as little as possible, there's a split second where "Italy" changes to "Mystery Country".
I'm having a problem. After I type in about 10 answers the game gives up, shows every country and never reveals the mystery country. Game over. Even with time on the clock. Anyone else have this problem? I would enjoy the challenge if not for this quirk. Won't play it anymore.
I'm using Chrome and it doesn't tell me what the mystery country is but I assume it was the last one that I typed when the game stopped since there was still time on the clock. I can mouse over that country on the map and it says Mystery Country.
Yeah that's how it's supposed to be. The original quiz wrote it as 'Mystery Country' instead of the actual country's name so that people could take it again and we applied that concept here, until we realized that we couldn't add the grid to the quiz.
Great quiz. Thankyou for putting it together. With Taiwan as mystery country, Libya and Ethiopia stay black at the end after solving in the time limit. Also Taiwan does not go green as I thought I saw on unsuccessful attempts. Chrome browser. Update - happens any time I 'win', no matter which mystery country. Have tried refreshing browser between attempts.
Regarding the not becoming green, this is intended. If you guess the mystery country it will show up dark red instead. As for the other issue I have attempted a fix but am unsure whether it works, as I cannot replicate it
It's those countries that stay black for some people - a really odd issue. They stay black even if I guess them during the game. It's not a game breaker at all, but there must be some reason for it.
Great job to everyone who worked on this, specifically Pandora49 and Simon1006!!! This is one of my favorite quizzes to do whenever I have free time, as it is extremely fun and can be repeated multiple time. Keep up the hard work!
Don't know if I'm slightly colour blind but I when I figure out the region where the country is supposed to be, all countries around appear to be equally red and I type in some 20 countries and don't know where to go next.
People who get the mystery country automatically get 196/196 (100%). The others who don't get the mystery country (I assume generally 10-20 countries) cause the average to go down.
Every time i start a game i type "Usa" lol and i happened to do that and it was a light pink so my very next guess was "Angola" and what do you know? It was literally Angola
Bruh they are ALL in the middle east or near it, apart from that i got Peru once and get Kiribati a lot. I'm so unlucky with my random luck it's getting boring
My country was Kiribati, and the US, Canada, Mexico, Australia, South Korea, and Russia were all bright red for it. That covers like 2/3 of the Earth. What gives?
As I commented on a similar quiz, I don't think the shades of red work all that well. I'd like to see one where there are multiple colors so it's easier to tell the difference between hot and cold.
On my first attempt, I did China, Russia, UK, Morocco. Morocco was pretty red, so I tried Sao Tome & Principe. That was it... 5/5 in 15 seconds! That'll never happen again :)
I love quizzes like this! I like that this one is randomized, it makes it so fun!
My only criticism is that the colors all look the same so my guesses weren't all that helpful. Could there be an edit to make for more of a spectrum? From blue/green to red?
*sigh* I realized very soon that it was a European country, but couldn't get it in time because there are just that many small countries (in the Balkan).
my strategy is do usa (if its really close its most likely in north america or south america), brazil (really close somewhere in central, carribean, or south america, or the west coast of africa, chad, nigeria, russia, china, india, australia to try to catch any pacific islands, and yeah
OMG i did Finland and got a red, then tried Russia and it was better, did China and Kazakhstan and found out it was in Europe, Tried Ukraine then Belarus, realized i needed to go south, then Poland, Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, before realizing that time was up and it was Albania.
Good game, I just think it would be slightly better if the countries' closeness was only based on what we see on the map, rather to their true closeness on our planet. Example: guessing South Korea shows that it is close to both russia and all those eastern asian countries, but also the United States, and all of those North American countries.
I love this quiz. I play it often. However the last four times it has been Slovakia every time - I now have a record time of 0 seconds. I wonder how it could be more... evenly randomized, if that's not too much of an oxymoron.
Yeah the randomizer on JP isn't perfect and sometimes gives you the same mystery country more than once. The maximum number of mystery countries possible are present in this quiz, so I am sorry that I cannot fix this
can you exclude the lesser antilles from the possible answers? i got st vincent and the grenadines and it ended up being "name lesser antilles countries until you find it"
Weird. I finished in 10 guesses and scored just 10/196 and 5%. Seems like it expected me to type all 196 countries regardless what shade of pink they were.
I won with Albania, but Libya did not light up when i guessed it (obviously it wasn't the right answer but still), also after the quiz Pakistan and Ethiopia do not show up, they are just empty black space
For a few people a few countries do not show up, I've looked into this quite a bit but I cannot explain or reproduce it, meaning we unfortunately also cannot fix it, sorry
Is there really not a way to remove the issue with the missing countries like Libya and Ethiopia? Like this quiz could potentially be one of the best ones here if that issue was resolved in my opinion.
When you complete the quiz and tap on the mystery country, it just says “Mystery Country” even though you’ve already completed the quiz so wouldn’t you want to know what the country was after the quiz.

Also, more rings around countries that are too small to be seen have been added.
Comments under Polish translation: stupid quiz, idk how it works!!!111!!!

Made my day.
Highly recommend

P.S I know hardly anything about Africa lol
i guessed saudi arabia and i was super close
i guessed kuwait and i was correct
I guessed Sudan and then I guessed Chad and got it right
Edit: Now it's 1 second, I just guessed Guatemala and it was right :D
Thailand
Why not a big one?
On my 77th try it was the Vatican
Really?
Somehow it was Monaco
It seems like a third of the globe appears as red when you're close to the target.
Mine was St Vincent and the Grenadines. 1 second left!
fewest countries to guess: 4
this is my favorite quiz on the site, amazing job.
My only criticism is that the colors all look the same so my guesses weren't all that helpful. Could there be an edit to make for more of a spectrum? From blue/green to red?
yay
I usually start with writing the biggest ones, far way away from each other, like USA, India, Brazil, South Africa...etc
End, 0:01
I scored 100% in 13 seconds for 5 / 5 points
