Transylvania is the most famous area of Romania. It belonged to Hungary until 1920, but after the Treaty of Trianon, it joined to the first mentioned country. Its name changed from "Erdély" to Transylvania. Not only the name of the area but all the settlements there have been given new names, with only a few exceptions.
The Hungarians living there at the time had a hard time learning the new names of their old towns. How much would you have struggled? I collected the Hungarian names of 52 settlements, these shall be named again in Romanian. Good luck!
The county of one city is different to keep the "county" coloumn simple. That city is marked with *.
Some small, only regionally famous villages are also featured. Therefore, don't be sad if you don't know these!
