A character will ask a player to pick an opposing player for him to attack. The player that is attacked by the character will lose all their capsules, which are thrown onto random spaces on the board.

A character will change the location of the current star and locate to a new location that is chosen randomly. In Mario Party 6 and Mario Party 7, it becomes a roadblock orb where by throwing it on a space on the board, any opponent who passes it will get blown to another space on the board.

|
A character will appear to steal either coins or stars from another player for a fee.

Chain Chomp
|
A player that is carrying this capsule will not be harmed by a Chain Chomp if another player summoned it on them.

This capsule allows a character to participate in chance time at any given time

Chance
|
When a character obtains three of these capsules, the character that is in last place will receive all the stars from the character in first place.

Miracle
|
Encases player in metal to make them invincible to other players traps.

Metal Mushroom
|
Slows down the speed of the Dice Block tremendously and rolls the number in order, allowing players to choose any number from 1 through 10 to roll.

Slow Shroom
|
By throwing it on a space, any opponent who passes it will get crushed by a character and must stop moving.
|
Thwomp
|
When thrown on a space, any opponent who passes it will lose 5 coins by landing on that particular space and every space after that until his or hers turn is through. In Mario Party 7, it was used again for the same purpose, but opponents only lost three coins per space instead of five.

Zap
|
Only on the gameboard Windmillville. Players threw these on a space on the board. Opponents that landed on a space containing the orb made a character appear at one of the windmills with some of their coins saved in there. The character would steal their coins from that windmill and give them to the owner of the space.

Bandit
|
Appears in the Pagoda Peak board in Mario Party 7. It fires you up to a higher level on the mountain. The distance it fires you is random everytime.

Cannon
|
Yoshi's and Birdo's special orb in Mario Party 7. When used and you walk over another character's space, Yoshi/Birdo will eat them. This orb only lasts for one turn. Then the orbs become yours and you can use them.

Egg
|
Mario and Luigi's special orb in Mario Party 7. When they use this item, they will have fire circling them for three full turns. If you happen to pass someone when this is in effect, you will take the enemies ten coins (or twenty in tag mode).

Fireball
|
Exclusive to Peach and Daisy. When used, the player receives three coins for each space they pass on their roll of the Dice Block and bypasses any roadblock traps for that turn.

Flower
|
Boo's and Dry Bones's special orb in Mario Party 7. Use it and you will get double your dice block roll and you turn invisible. You can bypass any roadblocks on the board. This will last for only two turns.

Magic
|
Anyone who lands on this orb will have a Star stolen from them by a character and given to the player who laid the trap. If the opponent doesn't have any Stars, 20 of their Coins will be given to the player who laid the orb.

Pink Boo
|
Exclusive orb to Toad and Toadette in Mario Party 7. It allows them to roll twice like a normal Mushroom Orb, except they are able to do that three turns in a row.
|
Triple Mushroom
|
Excusive to Wario and Waluigi in Mario Party 7. Its effect, when used by a player, is to suck up a number of coins (determined by the roulette wheel) from the other opponents.
