The Mi Lai massacre was a massacre commited by men of Charlie Company, 11th Brigade US army inMarch 16, 1968, during the Vietnam War.It was a massive shooting of 109 innocent North Vietnamese civilians in the so called village of Mi Lai, including children and babies.Some bodies had parts cut off.William Calley was found guilty of personally murdering 22 civilians and sentenced to life imprisonment, but his sentence was reduced to 20 years by the Court of Military Appeals and further reduced later to 10 years by the Secretary of the Army.

The Heian Period was a period of Japanese history which started in 794 and ended in 1185.During this period, the capital city was moved from Nara, to Heian-kyō (modern day Kyoto), and was a period noted for its art, especially poetry and literature. Two types of Japanese script emerged, including katakana, a phonetic script which was abbreviated into hiragana, a cursive alphabet with a unique writing method distinctive to Japan.

The Battle of Thermopylae was fought between 300 Spartans and an unclear massive amount of Persians.The battle ended with Persian victory, as the Spartans knew they would loose and die anyways.It was a distraction for the Persians, so that the Greeks had time to prepare for the war.The Persians' goal was to take over all of Greece, but failed.

When Persia became Iran. Iran was always known as 'Persia' to foreign governments and was once heavily influenced by Great Britain and Russia. In 1935, however, the Iranian government requested that all countries with which it had diplomatic relations call the country by its Persian name, Iran.The suggestion for the change is said to have come from the Iranian ambassador to Germany, who came under the influence of the Nazis.
