This is a case study about the murder of a 14-year-old boy in Essex which is linked to the concept, 'the sovereigns of cyberspace': -The boy knew an 18-year-old called Lewis Daynes from online gaming. -He was groomed by Daynes over a multiple month-long period online before finally being convinced to meet him for the first time at Daynes' flat. -When he arrived, he was murdered - shortly after, a photo of his body with a stab wound to the neck was shared on an online group. -Before long, this reached the police and the murdered boy's family.

This is a case study about the murder of a 13-year-old boy in Reading which is linked to the concept, 'the sovereigns of cyberspace': -The boy had recently used Snapchat to publicly share a video of a young boy being humiliated by 2 older boys. -Despite the boy never meeting these boys, they saw he had shared the video and described him as a 'snitch' - they then planned an attack against him. -They convinced a 14-year-old girl to lure the boy into a field near his house - there he was attacked by the 2 older boys, aged 13 and 14, the youngest having a knife. -He was then fatally stabbed - 3rd January 2021. -In the following murder trial, over 90% of the evidence gathered was taken from mobile phone data.
