The watery fluid that surrounds the nucleus. provides structure to the cell parts so they can move freely within the cell membrane. The enzymes in it help break down food to provide nutrients for the cell

A dense specialized structure in the center of the cell. Controls growth and reproduction of the cell (contains genetic material)

A thin layer of tissue that surrounds the cell and protects it's interior. It is semipermeable , meaning it can allow some substances to enter while excluding others.

The process of cell reproduction that occurs when a cell divides into two identical daughter cells. Requires favorable conditions to grow and reproduce (needs food, oxygen, water, and suitable environment)

The process that a cell uses to convert nutrients to energy

A type of metabolism that uses simple molecules to form a complex molecule (requires energy)

A type of metabolism that breaks down complex molecules into simple molecules (releases energy)
