Generically named band featuring former members of the glam rock band Iron Cross. Albums include "The Unexpected Guest" and "British Standard Approved".

This band's debut album, "Lightning to the Nations", is considered a classic but did not lead to mainstream success. Metallica and Megadeth cite this band as a major influence.

Band founded by and named after a former Deep Purple vocalist, who has since rejoined that band. He also served as vocalist on Black Sabbath's 1983 album "Born Again".

Death themed band first heard on the 1981 Heavy Metal Heroes compilation with their song "The Reaper".

Scottish band from Edinburgh whose most well known song is "The Small Hours", which was covered by Metallica & appeared on "Garage Inc". Their debut album is the "The Nightcomers".

Hugely successful and pioneering NWOBHM band whose mascot "Eddie" appears on all the band's album covers.
Iron Maiden
Breaking the Law
Band founded in 1970, and so not part of the NWOBHM. They had a big influence on the scene however & released their 6th studio album, "British Steel", during the movement's heyday.

Mineral themed Birmingham band. Their keyboardist, Geoff Nichols, would go on to play with Black Sabbath for 23 years.

Mind Over Metal
High energy band who refer to their music as "athletic rock". Albums include "Wiped Out", "Rock Until You Drop" & "All For One". They later signed to Atlantic but failed to to make the big time.

Riding with the Angels
Best known for being the first band of Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson. This band also featured drummer Thunderstick who performed on stage in a cage, wearing a leather mask.

Court in the Act
Provocatively named band who comically changed their name several times, also releasing albums as "Blind Fury" and "Pariah". Their debut album is regarded as a classic.

Very successful band fronted by Peter "Biff" Byford. Albums include "Wheels Of Steel" and "Strong Arm Of The Law".
Saxon
She Fell in Love with a Storm Trooper
Band heavily influenced by Motorhead and featuring Algy Ward, one time bass player for seminal punk band The Damned. Their debut album is "Filth Hounds Of Hades".

Big cat themed band who's albums include "Wild Cat" and "Spell Bound".
Tygers of Pan Tang
Don't Burn the Witch
Over-the-top, openly satanic metal band who would have a lasting impact on the later extreme metal scene. Albums include "Welcome To Hell" and the aptly titled "Black Metal".
Venom
Burning a Sinner
Cult band heavily influenced by Black Sabbath & known to feature scantily clad women on their album covers. Albums include "Death Penalty" & "Friends Of Hell".
Witchfinder General
Stagefright
Band known for using sinister occult imagery, such as the image of Baphomet featured on their debut album "Give Em Hell". They have a similar name to another NWOBHM occult themed band.
