Louis? I have never heard of a King Louis (in England, Great Britain, UK) before.

Louis VIII was briefly a disputed claimant to the throne during the First Baron's War, and at one point controlled over half of England. However, after the death of John, the rebel barons ditched Louis in favour of John's son, Henry III. They paid Louis 10,000 marks, and, in return, Louis renounced his claim to the English throne and agreed not to attack England again.

I think you need to allow alternative spellings, and to give the answer as correct if only part of the name is given e.g. 'Alfred'. I don't think you can count the Cromwells as monarchs

I enjoyed this but it really needs a lot more leeway with the Saxon spellings, as there were so many variants (Eadmund/Edmund, Eadwig/Edwy etc. etc.) - and the nicknames for the early ones probably need to be looser, as many of them had several, or variants on the same one (I've never heard of Eadgar "the peaceful" outside Wikipedia - traditionally he's "the peaceable").

Criticise, criticise, sorry! Like I say I enjoyed it.

Could either do with more time, or less typing. It's a test of knowledge, not how fast we can type Henry and Edward over and over.

Agree. And it would be helpful if you could specify at the top of the quiz that you're looking for numbers and/or titles as well as names, as most quizzes on jetbunk just ask for names. Which, by the way, I prefer! The numbers and titles, that is. Nice quiz idea, would be great to see it better worked out

Do you mind if I borrow this idea for an “ever British monarch ever, including England” sort quiz, going all the way back to Offa, the first ever monarch of England?

This is impossible. The Anglo-Saxon spellings should allow more leeway. And there was only one Alfred, so why insist on 'the Great'? And under no circumstances were the Cromwells kings, but Lord Protectors.
