These are cars that I have actually owned. It is not an exhaustive list, there have been many more cars that I have owned, some very briefly. In my younger days I could go to work in one car and come home in another. My record was 3 cars in one day ! There is a second quiz on the way of other vehicles I have owned. Watch this space!
My car ownership dates back to 1981, but I have a habit of buying cheap cars (less than £500 and sometimes even as low as £50) running them until they fall apart or just selling them on after a few days, weeks, months etc. I have settled down nowadays though and tend to keep my car for at least a couple of years. Back in the early days though I would swap cars with friends or work colleagues just for the sake of it. I have also bought cheap cars , repaired or restored them, and then sold them on as a part time money maker.
I see - while I don't drive too much myself (I prefer the method of flying), I have semi-restored an abandoned car I found in the woods. Don't ask me why it's there, I don't know.
Living in the UK, flying isn't normally an option, most trips are local or relatively short distance, not many people travel more than 20 miles on most journeys. The only long journeys many people embark on is for holidays, once or twice a year. Long road trips are rare mainly due to the cost of fuel. (Currently around £1.30 per litre)
Yeah...I have a private plane that I fly, but fuel is quite expensive for it. If I can, I'll usually just hike. But then again, you can't hike from Paris to Cambodia.
I took a few flying lessons back in the early '90s. But the cost was quite prohibitive even then, plus I wouldn't have had much need for a PPL anyway.
