Guess the 1970s song lyrics #278

1970. At first, the producer didn't want to do this song because he believed it was a song for a man to sing, not this singer who was also his wife. However, she insisted. It wasn't supposed to be a single. However, the legendary Clive Davis just happened to hear it in passing and commented, that it was her next single. It hit #1 on the country charts. It also became a crossover hit.
