Guess the 1970s song lyrics #69

Twofer! Same artist as #68. 1975 song. My cousin and I used to sing this at the top of our lungs. The artist wrote this song to take a humorous approach following a divorce. The melody is based on a 1917 love song by the Danish composer Carl Nielsen. This was his only #1 solo hit.

The

easy
if
you

I'd

to
be

There

fifty

to
leave
your

She

Answer
not
my
habit
to
intrude
Furthermore
I
hope
my
meaning
won't
be
lost

I'll
repeat
myself
at
the
risk
of
being
crude
There
must
be
fifty

leave
your
lover

And
I

in

you'll
begin
to
see
the
light
And
then
she
kissed
me
and
I
