Every Stanley Cup winner ever, right from the beginning.
Defenses of the cup in the challenge cup era are not included as wins of the cup, but if a team held the cup for 2 years during this time they are listed for both years.
* The 2005 and 1919 Stanley Cup finals were both officially cancelled. The 2004/05 season was never played due to lockout, and in 1919 the finals series was cancelled due to several players on the Montreal Canadiens being sick from the Spanish flu. These Answers are coloured grey.
**1925 marks the last year a non-NHL team won the Stanley Cup. prior to 1927, the cup was not owned by the NHL, and any professional league team could challenge for the cup. in the late 1910's/ early '20s, two leagues would play for the cup at the end of the season: the NHL and PCHL (Pacific Coast Hockey League). The winners of the season for both respective league would then play for the cup.
*** The challenge cup format of the 1890's and early 20th century allowed for more than one winner to hold the Stanley Cup in a year.
