I mean I feel like I practically live there sometimes. and I've dated more than one Filipina girl who argued with me, actually got mad at me, when I tried to suggest than men and women should be equal. I used to have big fights with Marvey about that- she would insist it was a woman's place to serve and pamper her man and be subservient to his needs, and wanted a man to jealousy treat her as his own property and not as an equal... I guess they don't measure things like that. and most Filipino men don't work or don't have any good work- those that do go overseas. So wage equality I suppose is quite high which is probably something they do measure. Though that is affected by so many other things I personally never felt it was a good indicator of true gender equality.
