Where can you get malaria? The answers are countries to which WHO recommends malaria prevention whether in pills or otherwise.
Details as follows:
"Type A": Limited risk, mosquito bite prevention enough.
"Type B": Risk of P.Vivax malaria, mosquito bite prevention plus chloroquine chemoprophylaxis.
"Type C": Risk of P.falciparum malaria plus signs of some drug resistance, bite prevention plus atovaquone–proguanil OR doxycycline OR mefloquine chemoprophylaxis (some people suffer nasty side-effects due to some of these).
"Type D": Risk of P.falciparum malaria plus signs of multidrug resistance, bite prevention plus atovaquone–proguanil OR doxycycline OR mefloquine chemoprophylaxis depending on the resistance and individual side-effect situation.
