Surprised not to see any question about the « Arbre du Ténéré », once the most isolated tree in the world before it was run down by a drunk driver in 1973

Thanks for mentioning this. I'd never heard of the "Tree of Ténéré" until now. Wow, this definitely would be a worthwhile addition to this quiz. If nothing else, it would pique people's interest and prompt them to look it up.

A tree, growing in the middle of a desert, getting mowed down by a drunken truck driver, is such a strong metaphor for life on earth.

I agree, it is an interesting ( for lack of a better word...) fact it would be a nice addition. Or a question on some other type of quiz

there's a similar thing in the middle of the (much smaller) Bahraini desert called the Tree of Life. It used to be a pretty charming place to go visit but now they've made it into a tourist destination.

And I'm guessing you weren't a tourist when you visited it?

I was not. I had an apartment in Bahrain for over 2 years, and would often go out to the desert on weekends before returning to my apartment where I lived. That aside, I'm not complaining about the tourists being there - there were sometimes a small handful - but rather the structures they built around it to try and make it more tourist friendly, ultimately ruining the place's charm. Thanks for your input; insightful and spot-on as always.

I really appreciate the number of new quizzes being features. However, there are really way too many clues given in those new ones. In this once for instance, I don't see how displaying the flags, giving the first letter of the ethnic group of giving away the CFA of the currency makes the quiz better. It just takes away the challenge.

I am absolutely in favour of the increasing number of country quizzes featured.

However, I don’t really appreciate questions like: « Country whose name can be made by adding two letters to Niger» or « only country on the Equator which is bigger than DR Congo » which do not tell about the countries themselves, but are rather comparative facts...

For the more "exoctic" countries easier question are fine imo, getting 0 for everything isn't fun either. I think giving the first letter (in some cases) is a good idea, you learn something that what, you can perhaps get the answer by some information that was floating around in your head but normally would never have guessed.

I am of the opinion to ask for the capital(s) of the UK is too easy.

You sort of have a point with the flags (but I wouldn't have gotten it, because I don't know Niger's flag, but now I will forever remember)

I do agree with the question "adding two letters" (but then again, I don't mind some shoo-ins to give everybody a chance to get atleast one right, as long as the other are interesting enough)

In the case of Nigeria, it’s very much the question which I disapprove of. Keeping « Nigeria » as an answer is fine, but in that case, the question should be rephrased in order to spice up the challenge. For example: « What is the most populous country that Niger borders? » would be cool. Adding two more letters two a country just makes it too easy, according to me.

Uranium isn't a "yellow element", it has a silvery colour like most metals. What is indeed yellow are certain uranium-containing minerals and, most famously, yellowcake, which is a product of uranium ore processing mostly made up of uranium oxide.

I second this. Uranium itself is not yellow. I thought the answer was Sulphur or something because that is yellow.

I admit it, I tried Uruk (hai) not that I had any believe that would be an acceptable answer, but to just type something while my mind continued to search (and failed)

Anyone else? :D (my fingers often keep typing while my mind looks for more plausible answers)
