Yeah, on that other quiz site, whose name I've never seen written in the comments here, makes Timor-Leste the officially accepted name.

Only reason I got East Timor is because that was the only country I missed on the last Geography-based quiz I took just 5 minutes ago.

Hard to tell unless looking at a detailed map. Madagascar goes to ~26 degrees south; Mozambique goes to ~27 degrees south.

The capital, Maputo, is farther south than the tip of Madagascar. I was confused too.

Madagascar's southernmost point is Cape Vohimena at 23°26'21"S, while Mozambique's southernmost point is the coastal border with South Africa near Zitundo, located at 26°52'S. Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_southernmost_point

Me too. I mentally list both of them under "C", in the same way that i wouldn't put the "Republic of India" or the "Kingdom of Cambodja" under "R" or "K".

It's likely that it's programmed to accept anything ending in "congo".

I typed drc and missed the R :( I don't agree with putting them under C and R, but I get that it is a hard choice to make and people are going to complain either way :P

When it accepted drc for Dem. Rep. of the Congo, I tried RC for Republic of the Congo, but it wasn't accepted.

I generally list them under D (Democratic Republic of the Congo) and C (Congo), because "Congo" is a generally accepted shortened name for Republic of the Congo.

Didn't even bother to type in Congo because Chile was such an obvious answer for C and it left me completely confused when I got down to just D and R. I'm pretty sure I tried Rwanda at least 10 times.

the uk owns the falkland islands, it should be there instead of uruguay. but if you only consider the mainland for all of the countries then you should make that clear :C

I think this quiz should be updated thanks to eSwatini changing its name!

Swaziland is actually called eSwatini now, even if it were an alternate name you put East Timor so no matter what it shouldn't be that, also, just avoid quizzes where you need to put East Timor at all, it guarantees an argument in the comment section
