Please use the honour system and only type the ones you have been to as to not mess up the stats.
Type United Kingdom instead of UK, Niger1 for Niger, Guinea1 for Guinea, ROC for the Republic of Congo, DRC for the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and DR1 For the Dominican Republic
Personally I was surprised it was so high. I think the USA and Canada combined only have about 6% of the world's population. But I suppose a lot of Jetpunkers are American or Canadian. That's probably why Britain is so high up the list too.
Have only been outside of Europe once, Morocco, which is also my least visited (in percentage) one. I have been to the biggest and smallest in the world though. :P
Well, it depends how big your country is and how easy it is to get out. There's an awful lot to see in some quite small countries. Even the variety just in Luxemburg I find quite amazing.
Really cool idea! Might I suggest adding the continents in the answers. Some people like to study them ;) ow and i accidentally added finland oops., we did a scandinavian trip, but not through finland
At 19 countries, I've hit almost 10%. Definitely need more. I did hit 2 1%-ers: Grenada and St Vincent. Both on the same tall ship cruise. Costa Rica and the Adriatic coast on the top of my list for future trips...
Great idea, though I disagree layovers should count. But since they do I also added North Korea because I crossed over to the North Korean side of the conference room at Panmunjom. If I discount that, plus a layover in Brunei, the most uncommon country I've actually visited is Mongolia.
In some cases layovers and other brief visits make perfect sense. For example, close to no one stays overnight in places like Monaco or Vatican and if you spend a few hours between flights exploring a city, you may well get the full picture of the place. Talking about smaller cities there, of course, and then again, you can spend a lifetime in some bigger cities and still know close to nothing of the place.
I interpreted "layover" to mean that you didn't leave the airport. I've technically spent longer in Brunei (a hellish 12-hour layover) than I have in Andorra, the Vatican or even Singapore, but I'd never say that I've "been to Brunei." Airports are a Gibsonian nowhereville. But yeah, if you leave the airport and wander around the city for a few hours, I think that counts as having been to a country.
I have been to French Polynesia but not France. I typed France in anyway, but JoshuaHines may want to clarify if territories count as being in the country.
38! I am more well travelled than I thought. Most of them only for a day, I have to confess.
I am surprised to see Mauritius and the Maldives on the zero list, since I thought they were quite popular holiday destinations. I thought Italy might be a little higher too
Yes I have been to the Maldives as well (swank swank) although I forgot it the first time round and had to do it again. It was only seeing it on the list that reminded me.
Also if i do end up taking this quiz you might want to make North Korea acceptable as i plan to go there in four years. I read in another comment that it isnt an accepted answer.
A couple of 2% but none of the 0%
Least common one I have been to: Iceland
Least common one I have been to: Bahrain
Least common one is San Marino.
San marino is awesome btw.
Never been outside europe though
Wondering how many before Nauru gets a nod.
Easiest quiz ever!
Most common was the US and least common was Paraguay (even harder than Andorra hahaha).
