My All Donald Trump edition of this quiz got unsubmitted. I assume because some of the song titles, though they were actual real-life song titles by performers such as Tool and Denis Leary that you could find listed on the backs of CD covers, were deemed objectionable. I wish that we had a less objectionable president.

I can't believe I forgot the song "Useful Idiot"... that would have been perfect for that quiz. And maybe less grounds for quiz censorship than the one I went with from the same album.

I'm not sure if the Denis Leary song was acceptable or not. It's always hard to tell... I mean I think I've seen all of those answers in some form or another on featured quizzes before. Maybe not the Denis Leary song. But definitely the Tool one, if the parts were separated out from the whole.

Maybe you could accept Ride of the Valkyries. That's how I've heard it translated. Also, Chandelier is in my #3 quiz.

I still remember the first time I heard that piece. It was in the live-action Casper movie when the three evil ghosts descend on Bill Pullman and Christina Ricci. I must have been ten years old, and I thought the music was great even with three obnoxious ghosts singing the melody. That is the mark of greatness.

You're a huge Nine Inch Nails fan, right? Interesting that you credited Hurt to Johnny Cash. The original might be my favorite song in the world, and I have never for a moment accepted the general understanding that Cash's version is superior. I frankly think it's a very cheap imitation and lacks a lot of what makes the song special. I know about the context in which it was recorded and I like Johnny Cash, but still....I don't think the two are even close. And can you explain the Du Hast photo? I am not getting that connection. Did your all-Trump version have a photo for Starfckers Inc.? You could have had a lot of fun with that one and his inner circle...

I'm not saying that the Cash version is superior, but it is better known, and from Trent's own mouth, when I saw him perform live in Reno shortly after the Cash version came out, paraphrasing, when he heard Cash's version he broke down because he knew that the song wasn't his any more. He's said other very flattering things about the Cash version of the song, as well. I respect both men as artists and enjoy both versions of the song.

Du Hast - I don't speak German but it's my understanding that translated Du Hast/Hasst Mich can mean "you have me" or "you hate me." The English-language version of the song on the album says "you hate me"

Also, by crediting Hurt to Cash, I could sneak on a 3rd NIN song in a sneaky backdoor way.

"Du Hast" is quite a difficult one. I still got it, but I asked myself, how a non-german-speaking person could guess it.

I am surprised to learn that there is an english language version wich is actually called "you hate me".

I considered the lyrics untranslatable, because the word-by-word build up of the phrase "Du hast mich gefragt..." wouldn't work in english and would also loose it's double meaning.

For the Trump version I had the same photo just copy & pasted over and over again with different songs such as Criminal, Maniac, Liar, Terrible Lie, Crazy, Sin, A$$h*le (by Leary), Malignant Narcissism, Womanizer, and American Idiot, among others. Wasn't a very good quiz but I thought it was funny.

Wagner's song is Ride of the Valkyries from Wikipedia - (The "Ride of the Valkyries" (German: Walkürenritt or Ritt der Walküren). If you don't change answer then please accept this more commonly known alternative.

otherwise tough quiz due to non-mainline artist choices.

Good music edition is stretching it a bit . some cool songs some rubbish but its your taste not mine and its a great quiz , not making them simple . But of all the great Metallica songs from the first four/five albums you choose a song from their awful period , surely with the theme of this quiz a clue for some of the top songs could be found.

heh. I like that song. Probably my favorite Metallica song. But like you said, everyone's got their own tastes.
