As for Kansas City, well, it's a double city, one of which is indeed in Kansas.

Woodwinds are named that because of the wooden reeds used to make sound. Despite being made of brass or other metals, saxophones still use a wooden reed. Still a fun quiz though!

Thanks for your compliment! But I disagree with your point: Flutes are also considered woodwind instruments, and they don't have a reed at all, just an edge.
