When
I
was
a
young

my
mama
said
to
me
"There's
only
one
girl
in
the
world
for
you
and
she
probably
lives
in
Tahiti"
I'd

wide
world
I'd
go
the

just
to
find
her
"Or
maybe
she's
in
the
Bahamas
where
the
Caribbean
Sea
is
blue,
weeping
in
the
tropical
moonlit
night
because
nobody's
told
her
about
you."
I'd
go
the

Why
am
I
hanging
around
in
the

out
here
trying
to
pick
up
a
girl?
Why
are
my
eyes
filling
up
with
Answer
these
lonely
tears
when
there's
girls
all
over
the
world?
And
is
she
lying
on
a
tropical
beach
somewhere,
underneath
a
tropical
sun,
pining
away
in
a
heatwave
there,
hoping
that
I
won't
be
Answer
long?
I
should
be
lying
on
that
sun-swept
beach
with
her,
caressing
her
warm
brown
skin
And
then
in
a
year
or
maybe
not
quite
we'll
be
sharing
the
same
next
of
kin
I'd

I love this song, but the words "cult classic" made me think that it was an oldie!

ETA: Which I guess I didn't realize this song goes all the way back to the 70s! So now I have learned something new.

It's 'rain RIGHT here', not 'rain OUT here'.

I've seen that in printed lyrics, but in the original, Wreckless Eric clearly sings 'out', not 'right'
