I don't think the lack of a high school diploma or presence of Wal*Mart really is a good way to determine redneckedness... maybe that's why Cleveland made the list. I mean I can easily think of 100 places more redneck than Cleveland. and I'm not trying to defend Cleveland... awful place... but in a totally different way.

and.. WOAH.. Sacramento???????????????????????? I didn't see that until just now. Sacramento is an even stranger inclusion. Sacramento is full of hippies and college students and California state employees. They made that other quiz about most educated cities in the USA. How did they get on here? Not sure Mesa really qualifies as redneck, either. Very strange quiz.

I would guess places like Nashville, Knoxville, Charlotte, Memphis, Chattanooga... or anywhere in Tennessee really, or Kentucky, West Virginia, South Carolina... that's prime redneck country. Not Ohio. Not the SouthWest. Definitely not California.

I agree 100%! I thought this was an interesting quiz idea, but unfortunately the only data that I could find was based on this criteria. If you know of any other studies with better criteria, let me know. As for the Wal Mart, it more represents a materialistic society which encompasses all of America.

Some day, I would like to travel to all of these cities and compile a list of my own. But for now, I don't have the money so I'll have to keep dreaming!

haha. If I come across any I'll be sure to let you know, but I doubt any scientific polls have been taken of something like a "Foxworthy Quotient"... how many rusted trucks in front yards per capita, how many old TVs used as stands for newer TVs per capita, etc. :D
