I'm surprised that Turkey makes it on before some of the East Asian and Eastern European countries that aren't listed here.

same. Idk what version of 'factbook' is used as source but South Korea, Singapore definitely belong. Poland and Czech Republic would come before Turkey too.

According to the UN, the name of the country is Vatican. Vatican City is referred only when talking about the capital, which, I know, takes the whole country, but still, the country's name is Vatican only

Surprised Slovakia is on the list. I have been there and it seemed poor-ish, not as wealthy as Hungary or Poland. 'Developed' is a pretty subjective term anyway, and I wouldn't trust the IMF with a barge pole given their role imposing austerity around the world.

Some of the Gulf states are quite developed too, such as the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and Oman.

developed, in that they are rich. but their almost sole source of exports is basically oil, and socially, they are not developed at all (human rights are downright awful in bahrain and qatar, worse than singapore).

Have you seen how many poor Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Nepali, Filipino, and African workers there are in the Gulf states? They're basically slaves there. That alone should be a big indicator why they're not on here.
