From freedictionary.com: Literature: Imaginative or creative writing, especially of recognized artistic value. Imaginative? Check. Creative? Check. Recognised artistic value? Hmm, though it would be tough to call his stuff not literature when bookshops have his books in their shelves.

In that case take them to Prince Edward Island, where the book is set. I was there last year, where LM Montgomery spent her life, and it is the nicest place. The musical show of Anne of Green Gables in Charlottetown, the capital, was brilliant, and even enjoyed by a grown-up like me.
