The association of owls and wisdom does not come from Winnie the Pooh. It comes from Ancient Greece. The owl was the sacred animal of Athena, goddess of wisdom.
I second the comment about wise owls; see for example the chapter by John Sparks in "Owls of the World: Their Evolution, Structure and Ecology." Also, there are at least 229 species of owls in Order Strigiformes, per Cornell University's "Birds of the World" website, updated 2023.
