My mistake: It says Ash caught Aipom in this episode which is from the Battle Frontier season, which was a season in between the Hoenn arc and the Sinnoh arc, where Ash travelled back to Kanto; so he actually caught it in Kanto.
I'm still not sure. I read that article and I couldn't figure out which region he was captured in. His Pokédex numbers list numbers for Johto and Sinnoh. I've never watched the show, so all I can go on is bulbapedia!
According to serebii.net, Aipom was technically caught in Kanto, when Ash & co were going through the Battle Frontier and the Kanto contests. Even though Aipom is a Gen 2 Pokemon [usually associated with Johto] and its evolution is from Gen 4, [which is usually associated with Sinnoh], it was caught in Kanto.
He does catch it during the Battle Frontier Season which takes place in Kanto but between both his Hoenn Journey and Sinnoh Journey. So if anything, the region should say Kanto but should be stuck in btwn Hoenn and Sinnoh. If you want, make it say Battle Frontier to avoid confusion.
I remember them having a togepi at one point. Though I don't know if it belonged to ash or misty, I also don't think they "caught" it. It was hatched from an egg. So it might not count, but I thought I'd mention it just in case
Hi, I see that only final evolutions are admitted as answers.
However, in some cases Ash owned these Pokémons as earlier stages, e.g. he obtained a Charmender which evolved into Charmeleon and later into Charizard, but only "Charizard" will be accepted as an answer.
I think it would be more correct to include earlier evolutions as type-ins (of course only if Ash obtained them as such).
He technically never caught Larvitar. They traveled together for a bit until they found Larvitar's mother and went with her. That's a similar situation to Haunter, for example, who took a liking to Ash, helped him deal with Sabrina's gym, but was never Ash's pokémon.
1. Ash already had aipom when he got to Sinnoh, so it was caught during the battle frontier season so put battle frontier next to aipom
2. Ash only had raticate for one episode, which was battle aboard the st Anne when he traded for it, but he traded it back so raticate doesn’t count much.
3. Ash caught Tauros (actually 30) in a banned episode which was the legend of dratini. It’s not really a problem I just thought I’d tell you to add x30 next to tauros, because that’s the number he caught.
4. This needs to be updated for Pokémon journeys and Pokémon master journeys for the Galar region
Aipom was technically caught in kanto, although its placement on this list is correct. It was in the battle frontier arc, between hoenn and sinnoh, when ash traveled back to kanto.
