Quartz is hardly valuable if you are talking about it in a monetary sense - Natural quartz is cheap, and in most electrical applications it is produced synthetically for even cheaper (I would assume). If you're talking about scarcity - it's the second most common mineral in the earths crust. I suppose it is valuable in the sense that it is useful...but that's the only way.

Same here, first try. Not so difficult though, how many bank names could there be other than United Bank of Switzerland? (After looking it up I realized it was actually Union Bank, but still got it.)

"Most famous mountain" is very ambiguous. I personally feel Mont Blanc is more famous than the Matterhorn.

There is nothing to clarify. The quiz is called "Switzerland A-Z" and Mont Blanc is not in Switzerland.

On Jetpunk, they seem to consider Matterhorn as more famous than Mont Blanc, I don't know why. Anyway, you can understand this question as "Most famous mountain in the Swiss Alps...

This is probably the first quiz I took where Matterhorn was an answer. So I'm not sure where you get the idea it's considered more famous. But anyway as alberici said the answer should be clear without further instructions as Mount Blanc is not in Switzerland and this quiz is about Switzerland.

The name "Mont Blanc" is surely more famous than "Matterhorn". But nobody has any clue of what the Mont Blanc looks like. If you show a picture of the Matterhorn, everybody remembers seeing it at least once and recognizes its shape, even if you don't know its name.

No idea about 'V'. Then I think of Switzerland as a place for skiing, so I tried "Vail?"

"Shoop, shoop, shoop..."

Doh, thought there was an actual term for "Goat-herding girl". Should have realized that you were just describing a character. :-/
