This city is one of the very few included on my bucket list of places where to NEVER go, because of the risks of kicking it (the bucket) due to the fantastic sum of hazardous things everywhere near it.

You definitely found a great concept with your quizzes by distance. This one is nowhere near as difficult as some other ones, but it's still a lot of fun to play, I never through I would have typed that city surrounded by volcanoes and submarines in Kamtchatka (to not name it) on a JetPunk Quiz.

I can't figure out why Dallas is listed here but Houston is not. Houston is clearly larger (being the 4th largest city in the US). It is within 1000km of Dallas. It is Perhaps close enough to Monterrey to exclude Houston, but Dallas would be too close to Houston to be included. Other than that, I am enjoying these quizzes immensely.

You should definitely accept Papeete for Faa'a. And I highly suggest to put Papeete as the main answer, it's the capital of Tahiti, in the same "metro area" as Faa'a, and much more well-known.

Here : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Papeete, it says the urban area is about 133k people, so you shouldn't even give the first two letters ^^.

seems like there are some big gaps in the map unless there is some projection distortion. no cities in the middle of canada, kazakhstan or around niger/mali/algeria/libya? pretty sure all of those are more than 1000km from anywhere else unless this is not a complete grid (but then why include tiny places?)

Dec 17, 2018
The limit is 1000 km but you can have a much longer 'chain'. I am guessing these so I might be wrong but for example I suppose Seattle is larger than Calgary which is larger than some smaller city which will be larger than Iqaluit etc, so none of those are the largest city within 1000 km
