1. 90% of earth's population lives in the northern hemisphere.

2. You might think that Canada or Indonesia has the most islands in the world, but it is actually Sweden with over 265,000 islands!

3. Some parts of California is north of Canada.

4. Some islands in Alaska are so far out, some islands are actually in the eastern hemisphere. This makes Alaska the westernmost and easternmost state in the US!

5. Russia and China has the most bordering countries in the world, each at 14.

6. Sudan has more pyramids than Egypt.

7. Norway has the second longest coastline in the world, only beaten by Canada.

8. France has 12 timezones.

9. Denmark actually borders Canada via a small island in the Baffin Bay.

10. Uzbekistan and Liechtenstein are the only two countries that are doubly landlocked. That means that all the countries they border are also landlocked.

11. In Canada, there is a lake on a island in a lake on a island in a lake...

12. The island of Java has a higher population than Russia.

13. There are more Lebanese in Brazil than Lebanon.

14. The small island of Barbados has a longer coastline than Iraq.

15. In 1921, United Kingdom was almost as big as the moon.

I’m pretty sure they’re just referring to how the Northernmost point in California is further North than Windsor, Ontario.

Just to be pedantic, it was the British Empire rather than the United Kingdom. The UK was part of the empire in the same way that Italy was part of the Roman empire. Great facts though!
