Ideas for changes to JetPunk #2

+1
Hi! I have a list of things that I want changed in JetPunk! ;)
1: After you finish presenting the quizzes about countries, I recommend that you do the same about biggest cities and subdivisions(As at the bottom someone wrote that some of these are niche, e.g. Quiz about Gambia or Saint Lucia is niche)
2: Ability to add blogs in English only. These Portuguese-language blogs annoy me.
3: If not a page for all blogs, then expand your list of recent user blogs by at least 40 blogs.
4: The ability to view all the quizzes in English. According to my information, such does not exist.
5: Points could be earned on JetPunk in the "under recommended" languages. (of course for all quizzes)
6: Establishing JetPunk Instagram, fanpage or snachpat
7: I would suggest adding a function to comments that allows the comment to be only seen by the quizmaker
8: Commenting under a series of quizzes
9 : Nominating blogs that would later be on this list
10: If not a list of all the quizzes in English, then all the quizzes with 5000+ takes
11: The JetPunk changelog also appeared on the home page of another language, e.g. Polish and French, etc...

PS: I got 30,000 takes yesterday
Tell your buddy to write blogs only in English, nobody will understand but you write "cool", "great" etc ... Nobody reads this.

I like the first four. I think they should present all the country capital cities. For the blogs my phone has Google Translate in JetPunk. At the bottom of the screen it has a switch to English. But still add blogs for other languages for the other language speaking JetPunkers on a different language tab thing. There is probably a reason number 4 doesn't exist though.

1. But some of those quizzes are very niche. Biggest Cities in Kiribati or Districts of Nauru will not appeal to the majority of the users of this site.

2. Yes, I agree. You should be able to select the language of blog you want.

3. If you expand that far, it won't really be 'recent user blogs' anymore.

4. That would put an immense load on the servers.

5. The languages will be given their own homepages once they reach a high enough amount of quizzes.

6. What would a Jetpunk Snapchat or Instagram be used for? The only social network that has an active Jetpunk community is Reddit, as the users make the posts.

For 1, I think it would be more of a ‘Shanghai City Quiz’ or a ‘Gujarat Quiz’. If those quizzes exist, they should be attached to the country quizzes. For 3, it would be more of a ‘Sort by Recent’ than a ’Recent’, so you could see old blogs if you so wish.

For number 6, we already have a Facebook (which no one uses), a Reddit, and a Discord. That's already enough moderating for Stewart so give him a break

I agree with making quizzes, users, and pages easier to find (like making a page with helpful links to the change log, nominated quizzes, etc.) but some are going over a bit. Making too many pages with a lot of information on each would strain the server, as NiobiumVoid said above.

Don't forget the twitter page, Stewart has a lot to handle.

I would suggest adding a function to comments that allows the comment to be only seen by the quizmaker to reduce the amount of complaints seen by other people (who probably don't want to see them).

The problem with filters for specific languages is that there aren't many people making blogs in different languages, so the occasional blog in a different language is ok

At 2, I disagree. Jetpunk is a website in several languages, including Portuguese. English blogs also give me some discomfort (although mine are in English). I think you mention (but not mentioned), my friend, @Netinhodapaz. Their blogs were recently removed, and were soon released. We are from the same school and I indicated the site for a job. If it pisses you off, simply wait for a translation tab to appear, and click translate. If Jetpunk were only English, I would understand, but it is not. It doesn't make sense. I can ask you to put your blogs in English, but eliminating them is a very bad idea.

Agreed. One of the things that makes JetPunk so special is the opportunity to make and take quizzes in different languages, unlike many quiz websites, so there's no harm in making blogs in different languages.

At 9, I fully agree. Only Stewart and Quizmater blogs appear in the featured ones. If quizzes can be like that, why not with blogs? Many have good quality....

At 5 more I agree. Many great quizzes are not on the Main Page, and it is a bit unpleasant to see that a person is dedicated to a great quiz and not even points.

That would be unreasonable. A language has to be featured to earn points on it. If every language were featured, we would need to find a speaker of each language who is willing to translate every page into each language. The reason why those languages aren’t featured is that there aren’t many JetPunk users who speak them. Putting that much hard work into translating the site isn’t worth it if only a few people are interested in it. Hence, people won’t be willing to translate it.

That is not what I am talking about. I say that there are many good quizzes that could be scored. I didn't say that all quizzes in different languages could be on the same page. It would cause a real mess on the site. No server can handle translating every different language every time.

You don’t get what I’m saying. For each featured language, i.e. one you get points on, there is a whole new site, front page, etc. If not a lot of people are gonna take the language, no native speakers will bother to translate the whole site. And it’s not the server translating it. People need to manually translate it. Every page, every word. No one will go to that much trouble to translate JetPunk into a language that what, 50 people are gonna see each day. I don’t think it’s a good idea.

"...@ MG17 then let her blog only in English."

What did you mean?

He thinks you should tell her to stop blogging in any other language than English. I think QM should just put different language tabs for blogs because I don’t think blogs in other languages should stop.

The idea of language guides would be very functional, but deleting blogs in Portuguese is out of the question.

I would also like to have something that will give you a notification every time someone replies to one of your comments on a quiz.
